$100,000 for traffic light improvements

Some Leamington motorists have given voice to their irritation on traffic control signals at some intersections.
Mayor John Paterson admits that some of his "fans tell me what they think of some stop lights" at certain intersections.
He made the comment as council last week approved a $100,000 tender for signal improvements, both major and minor, at seven intersections.
Councillor Rick Atkin said he has been told that one of the reasons that the signals on Erie Street go "out of synchronization" is because of the fire vehicles which are capable of changing some lights to green.
Town engineer Allan Botham said that isn't correct because the lights will reset by a clock - "everything will readjust itself."  To read more go to www.leamingtonpostandshopper,com.
