By Brenda Fischer
The Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex has programs to keep your entire family busy and active --- check out the Complex Activity Guide for all the details!
The Complex Pool is having some capital renovations done therefore, the Pool is closed from Sept. 6 – 18, 2011 to complete these capital maintenance items in order to serve our members & program participants better in the years to come.
Swimming Theme Days are a great way for your family to spend quality time together:
--Fri. Sept. 23rd – Rock 'n Swim 7-9pm with Live Music sponsored by Dr. K. Archer- Family Dental Care
--Sunday, Sept. 25th – "It's a 3-Ring Circus" 1-3 pm where lifeguards lead all sorts of fun games like Pin the Nose on the Clown, Musical Hoola Hoops and Human Cannonball Jumps! What could be more fun than a family splashing & playing in the pool together!
New fitness classes this fall include:
--Mom & Baby Yoga – plus returning classes are Stroller Fit and Mom & Tot Aquafitness - young mom's can get a great work-out while they have their baby with them in any of these 3 different fitness classes;
--"the Right Weigh to Lose it!" -a weight loss/nutrition/and exercise class led by Rosie and Kelly! sure to help you understand the reasoning behind healthy food choices and optimum exercise routines;
--and a new Foam Roller Massage class -roll all the tension out of your body with this one easy piece of equipment – a Foam Roller! Give yourself an invigorating massage all on your own!
--Pickle ball in the Gym this Fall -options include: Monday and Wednesday morning 9 – 11; or afternoon 1 -3 pm; or bring the kids and play as a family on Thursday's from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
--Red Cross First Aid Classes are offered for individuals, or for corporate groups. Get yourself and your workplace colleagues certified for Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
--SPIKES Volleyball –for youth ages 5-15. Learn fun & basic skill development on Monday & Friday afternoons from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the Complex Gym. Ontario Volleyball has modified the game to make it more youth friendly. Playing 3 per side, everyone gets to touch the ball. The ball is softer, so it doesn't hurt your arms, and the net is lower. The drills and games are designed so that everyone has lots of fun and learns volleyball skills like never before!
