Resident raps town over rusty water

Leamington council learned last week there are other areas with water problems as well as those where new construction is taking place this year.
Baird St. resident John Biekx said rusty-colored water is a real issue in his neighborhood and he wanted to know why nothing was being done, or even scheduled to be done this year.
Although not on the council agenda for last week's meeting, Biekx was allowed to voice his concerns.
He told council he was "speaking for the whole block".
He told council that until something is done residents will be "calling (town hall) every day" to complain.
He charged that council simply "cherry picked" the projects it wanted done, although Mayor John Paterson tried to explain that council approved projects based on recommendations by municipal staff.  To read more go to www.leamingtonpostandshopper.com.
