Soucie named Flyers’ captain


The Leamington Flyers have named veteran defenceman Ron Soucie as team captain for the 2011/2012 season. The 20 year-old LaSalle native played for the Windsor Spitfires and Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League prior to joining the Flyers midway through last season.
"Ron is a natural born leader," Flyers head coach Tony Piroski said. "On the ice he brings us OHL experience but his off-ice demeanor is more important. He leads by example and is a good quality person."
The Flyers regular season will begin on Thursday, September 8 when they host the Sarnia Legionnaires. Game time is 7:10pm.
